An Awesome Quilt for a Special Grandson

This incredible quilt was created by Judi Z for her 12 year old grandson.  The words of his favorite song from Rascal Flats are embroidered in the sashing.  Thanks to the world of technology, Judi even found a greeting card that plays the song when you open it.  We are so blessed to be able to watch the creation process and the love that goes into these beautiful quilts.

A New Way to Create a Quilting Pattern

Sometime we get so excited by all the projects we are working on that crazy things might happen.  In this case, a pattern got in the way and was quilted right to the back of this block.  The cool thing is that if you open the pattern up and use a little pounce, you could actually transfer a very cool quilting pattern.  We love you Lana!

Quilts for Kids

Several of our ladies have made "Quilts for Kids" by requesting a kit from Downy. quiltsforkids.org/patterns/request/.  Downy will send you all the fabric to make the quilt, all you supply is the batting and the cost to mail it back.  This is a great cause, they just need your loving hands to piece and quilt.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Digitizing

Twenty two ladies gathered to learn how to digitize.  It looked just like a college classroom.  Next month we look forward to seeing all the monogrammed towels that will be shown for "show & tell" & then they will move on to project two.  Professor Rosie showed her magnificent expertise and patience working with her students.  Thanks Rosie!

Quilt Market May 2010

Spring Quilt Market 2010 has been a blast!  We just finished packing and we think that between the 3 of us we may have 300 pounds of STUFF to bring home.  We only have to walk 8 blocks to the Lite Rail with our load to ride to the airport.  Not to worry, we can do it!  Among the highlights were Moda's awesome banquet, being there when Edyta received a special award for her new book & meeting all the wonderful designers and authors of the great fabric and patterns that we all love.  Ok, since you are reading this you must realize that we just created this blog sitting in our hotel room.  In addition to that, within the coming weeks you will notice a brand new website along with an online store thanks to our new friends from likesewwebsites.com the picture above, is Brian, our new "web guy".  We enjoyed seeing and spending some time with our friends from Gladwin, Frankenmuth, Hemlock, Elkton, Gaylord, West Branch, Midland & Mio in addition to all the new people we met.  We have  missed all of you and look forward to sharing everything we learned and all the things we ordered.  Once we get home, sort through all our information and learn all about this "blogging thing" we will post links of some of the great new friends we met.

The picutre on the right is Stacy with Barb & Mary from Me and My Sister Designs. Visit their website at meandmysisterdesigns.com
